This Christmas tree is gifted by Norway as a thank you for help recieved from Edinburgh and Scotland during WWII. The tree is supplied from Keilder Forest in England and has been for the previous five years. In the twenty years previous to that the tree was shipped from Norway but now a local tree is used to reduce the carbon footprint and reduce costs. The tree though is still paid for by Norway..A premanent concrete base is in place and the tree is fitted into a metal sleave to hold it in position and is aditionally supported by cables as the location of the tree on the Mound is quite windy. It is due to be decorated over the next couple of days ; Edinburgh, Scotland. 9th November 2010...Picture:Scott Taylor Universal News And Sport (Europe) .All pictures must be credited to www.universalnewsandsport.com.
