Home of STV's  Stunning City Of Lights Documentary video in 1990. Tonight they wowed the sell out crowd wih Music spanning 35 years inc Tracks from thier latest album Everything You See, and favourites like  Protect and Surivive and Loch Lomond... When the City Of Lights was realeased the video out sold, U2's Under A Blood Red Sky", the Initial veiwing figure for the Programme was thought to be around 1.5 - 2 Million people. Allistar Moffat the director was also landed in hot water after revealing the budget for the programme was higher than first thought. But that aside the City Of Lights programme/ Video was the catapult that Runrig needed to bring them the much deserved success tht followed Inc a 50,000 Loch Lomond Concert Later a figure of 70,000 was believed to of been in the area,  and sell out tours in both The UK and Europe. Runrig stand today as possibly Scotland's best ever live music act. .Runrig Started from humble beginings as a Three Piece band with Founder Memebers and Bothers Calum and Rory MacDonald and friend Blair Douglas, Later Donnie Munro would Join  and as Band Members came and went Guitarist and Music genius Malcolm Jones Joined in 1978, In 1981 Drummer Iain Bayne joined then in 1987 Big Country's  Peter Wishart joined the line up would remain untill 1997, when lead Singer Donnie Munro quit the band to persue a possible political career He norrowly lost out to the then Lib- Dem Leader Charles Kennedy. The Majpority held was 13,000 this was slashed to just over 1000 votes, showing Munros popularity on his home Island of Skye. In 1998/9 Canadaian Singer Bruce Guthro from Capr Breton, Nova Scotia joined the band as Munros replacement, Then in 2001 Keyboard player Peter Wishart left to become eleceted SNP,MP for Angus. meaning Music teacher and session musician B
