A specialist diving crew spent the day (Thursday 21/5/09) preparing to search Loch Awe for the body of an angler missing and presumed dead during a fishing trip<br />
The family of Steven Carty are spending thousands of pounds hiring the crew to locate the body of their loved one after becoming frustrated by the lack of  police progress.<br />
William Carty, 47, and Craig Currie, 30, were found dead in Loch Awe, Argyll nine weeks ago. Mr Carty's brother Steven, 42, and Thomas Douglas, 36, are still missing and presumed dead.<br />
Today Steven Cartys wife Elizabeth and daughter Michelle will start paying a commercial diving company £1200 a day to do the job they claim Strathclyde Police aren't doing properly.<br />
Elizabeth Carty said: "We haven't raised all the money yet but we are trying through family and friends. We know where they are, they just can't be located at the moment. We have to do something. We can't just sit back and let it go."<br />
Michelle Carty, Mr Carty's daughter, added: "Our live is not the same, and the police - we just feel like we are going round in circles. Nothing is set in stone. We feel as if their heart is not in it at all."<br />
